Hyperspace, is an annual design charrette held by the RIT's Interior Design Department. Interior Design Students are placed in teams that include a combination of first through fourth year students, but are led by third year students. Each team has one week to design a solution for the same client, and then present their ideas.
The client for Hyperspace 2020, was the the Rochester Central Library. Students were tasked with redesigning a secret room that holds cultural and historic meaning to Rochester, New York. Students were asked to create a flexible multi-use space for the client.
The winning design of Hyperspace 2020, was Haven. Haven was design by Caroline Pedrotti (Fourth Year), Sarah Vulmer (Fourth Year), Thomas Richter (Third Year), Jonathan Sutton (Third Year), Sara Chambers (Second Year), Gillian Kostek (First Year), and Amy McFeely (First Year).
